Bezel set in the center of our magnificent 18K two tone ring is a Cat’s Eye Chrysoberyl. This variety of gemstone is extremely hard with a ranking of 8.5 on the Moh’s hardness scale. The 9.49 carat chrysoberyl has a yellowish-green hue and a cabochon cut allowing for the exhibition of the gems unique characteristic known as, chatoyancy. Better known as cat’s eye, chatoyancy is an optical illusion caused by the thin parallel inclusions within the stone that reflect the light to form a thin band across the surface. The brilliance of this gemstone is enhanced by the halo of round white diamonds set in 18K white gold. The diamonds are of approximately G color, VS clarity and have a total weight of .28 carats. The ring shank is cast in 18K yellow gold and has a matte finish on the recessed area on the exterior of the ring while the raised edge, as well as inside of the ring, are given a high polish.
