This oval cut fire opal glows with an intense vibrant orange and yellow amber hues reminiscent of the volcanic fires in which it was formed. Fire opals are mined from volcanic material that has sustained the right amount of heat and pressure when water seeps into rich volcanic silica. The larger facets that have been cut into the 16.25 carat opal disperses the light that hits it better, creating a beautiful shifting in colors under just the right light. The 18K white gold mounting that the fire opal is set in has a free-flowing organic wave around its outside edge and is pave set with a seamless line of round white diamonds. The bail that the pendant hangs from is also pave set with three rows of white diamonds, creating the illusion of a solid bail of diamonds. The design of the bail and the mounting are adorned with a delicate bead pattern that has been created with the metal that has been molded by a special mill grain tool. The fire opal pendant hangs from a delicate decorative 18K white gold cable chain and has a combined total diamond weight of 1.62 carats.
